Postdoctoral fellow

The Faculty of Medicine is one of five faculties of Umeå University.The faculty is an organization for education and research groups in the fields of medicine, odontology and health care.It comprises 13 departments, 2 research centers and 12 academic programmes.Within the faculty there are about 3 000 undergraduate and 650 graduate students.About 1 000 people are employed here, among them about 500 teachers/researchers.Postdoctoral fellow A temporary (2 year) postdoctoral post is available at the Department of Clinical Microbiology, Div Infectious Diseases, Umeå University, Sweden.Description The Research fellow is expected to carry out research and supervision of PhD students in clinically oriented research in infectious diseases.The focus in this project will be on identification of different strains of intestinal parasites and on pathogenicity.Development of diagnostic methods will also be a part of the work.The work will be performed in close contact with other researchers at the lab of infectious diseases and others at the dept of Clinical Microbiology as well as with researchers in veterinary medicine.For more information see www.umu.se/climi.Requirements The successful candidate should hold a PhD in molecular biology, preferably with a clinical profile and have a sincere interest in teaching/supervision and in leading a research group.For more information, contact Prof.We look forward to receiving your application!
