The Department of Health and Caring Sciences is part of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. The research activities within this multidisciplinary department include the areas of e-health, health care of older and/or disabled people and people with long-standing chronic conditions, global health, family focused nursing and family (informal) care and integrated, people- centred care.

Extent and period: Agreement on temporary employment as a postdoctoral fellow, full time for one year, special fixed-term employment (Swedish acronym, SÄVA) (with possibility for extension under the circumstance of continuing financing).
Work description
The postdoc will work with research related to the research work of the Informal Carers, Care and Caring Research Group in the Department, led by Professor Elizabeth Hanson. This group acts as the research arm for the Swedish Family Care Competence Centre (Nka, a national centre of excellence in the field of family (informal) care, commissioned by the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs, with a focus on knowledge transfer and evidence-based development work to influence policy and practices which enhance the quality of life and care of informal carers and the people they care for.
We seek a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow with a strong background in digital health, health promotion, and health economy research and policy. In keeping with the multi-stakeholder work of the Research Group and Nka, the postdoc will work in close collaboration with practitioners, decision makers, policy makers within primarily health and social care and education, end users and researchers at Swedish, EU and international universites/ research organisations within health science, social science, public health, digital and AI innovation, sustainable development and health economy. The work will also be carried out in collaboration with Swedish and EU civil society organisations with a special focus on informal carers and migrants.
Entry requirements
Appointment to a post-doctoral position requires that the applicant has a PhD, or an international degree deemed equivalent to a PhD, within the subject of the position (health science, health promotion, health economy or other closely related field with experience of health science), completed no more than three years before the application deadline.
Additional assessment criteria:
- Documented experience of writing scientific reports & and publishing in academic journals
- Documented experience of working interdisciplinary with other researchers and stakeholders listed above
- Very high proficiency in academic writing and spoken English
- Documented experience of quantitative, qualitative and health economy research methods
- Documented experience of project management of European projects
-Documented experience of grant writing for European funding
Consideration will also be given to excellent collaborative skills, drive and independence, and how the applicant’s experience and skills complement and strengthen ongoing research within the Group, and how they stand to contribute to its future development.
