The Department of Physics is one of the biggest departments within the Faculty of Science and supports a broad range of basic research in experimental and theoretical physics. It has about 250 employees of which 95 are PhD students. Many have been internationally recruited. The Department is part of the AlbaNova University Center, which apart from the Department of Physics houses the Department of Astronomy, the Physics Departments at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), and the Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics (Nordita).

Project description
Creative research on the theory of quantum matter in the research group lead by Prof. Emil J. Bergholtz.

Main responsibilities
The Postdoctoral Fellow is expected to carry out inspired research on the theory of quantum matter.

Qualification requirements
Postdoctoral positions are appointed primarily for purposes of research. Applicants are expected to hold a Swedish doctoral degree or an equivalent degree from another country.

Assessment criteria
The degree should have been completed no more than three years before the deadline for applications. An older degree may be acceptable under special circumstances, which may involve sick leave, parental leave, clinical attachment, elected positions in trade unions, or similar. 

Qualified applicants holds a PhD in theoretical physics specializing in theoretical condensed matter physics, high energy physics or mathematical physics.

In the appointment process, special attention will be given to research skills. The successful applicant will be selected based on documented knowledge in topological quantum matter. Excellent analytical capability is absolutely necessary as well as well-developed English language skills. Programming skills are wished for.

A high level of personal motivation and team working skills is crucial.

Terms of employment
The position involves full-time employment for a maximum of two years, with the possibility of extension under special circumstances. Start date as per agreement.
