Postdoctoral position in oral microbiology/oral infections (scholarship)

Institutionen för odontologi finns vid KI Campus Flemingsberg och utbildar tandläkare och tandhygienister. Vi bedriver dessutom forskning, specialistutbildning och patientvård av specialisttandläkare. Area of responsibilities/description of work?
This postdoctoral position is immediately available in the research group of Prof. Belibasakis, at the newly formed Division of Oral Diseases, Department of Dental Medicine, Karolinska Institutet. An independent scientist with strong background in oral microbiology, oriented towards microbial genomics, bacterial virulence, or biofilms is expected to fulfil this position. The successful postdoc will belong to a top-notch research group in oral diseases, with ample possibilities to carry out interdisciplinary project work, including application of state-of-the-art omics technologies. 

Qualifications
The applicant must hold a doctoral degree or a foreign qualification equivalent to a doctorate. A PhD in microbiology or molecular biology is required, and expertise in oral microbiology is highly preferred. Experience in microbial genomics, bacterial virulence, or biofilms are strong merits. The successful candidate should have the competence to work independently in the laboratory, be highly motivated and demonstrate strong organisational, writing, and communication skills. 

Entry requirements
Scholarships for carrying out postdoctoral research may be granted to persons living in other countries who come to Sweden with the intention of only staying in Sweden for all or part of their postdoctoral education at KI. Persons who are resident in Sweden and/or have carried out all or part of their academic education at KI or some other educational institution in Sweden cannot be considered for scholarships from KI. The head of the department determines whether their previous training and scholarly qualifications correspond to a Swedish PhD or higher.
