Postdoctoral position in theoretical fusion plasma physics

The Fusion Theory Group at the division of Nuclear Engineering in the Department of Applied Physics seeks a highly motivated applicant with a good background in mathematics and plasma physics, for a postdoc position focused on studies of energetic particles in magnetically confined plasmas.

Required qualifications
We seek a person with a PhD-degree in physics or a related area with previous experience from plasma physics. The work is includes both analytical theory and numerical simulations. The successful candidate is expected to interact closely with students and seniors at the Department of Applied Physics and she/he will be actively involved in PhD supervision.

The scholarship is open for individuals with a PhD from a foreign university who will come to Sweden on a temporary basis with the aim of conducting research studies or obtaining additional qualifications after their PhD. The position requires sound verbal and written communication skills in English. The position will be available for a maximum period of two years and is open to non-Swedish citizens who received their PhD not more than two years before the starting date of the scholarship. The scholarship is free of tax. Health care insurance will be provided.

Full-time temporary employment. The position is limited to a maximum of two years (1+1).
