Arbetsuppgifter: SLU invites applications for an 18 month post-doctoral position in Ecosystem Ecology, on the topic of Responses of Ecosystem Properties to Long Term Fire History in Boreal Forest (Ref. Nr. 5566/2013) at the Department of Forest Ecology and Management at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, at Umeå, Sweden. The position involves collaboration with researchers based in both Sweden and Quebec, Canada; as such while the position will be based in Umeå, the field work will be based out of northern Quebec. The study system involves islands in northern Quebec that differ in historical fire regime, and the postdoctoral researcher will explore how ecosystem properties in this system both aboveground and belowground respond to fire history in this system. There is the expectation that the researcher will be actively involved in the design, fieldwork, data analysis, and write-up of this work. This position would be particularly ideal for researchers that have an interest in the community and ecosystem ecology of northern ecosystems. The postdoctoral researcher will be expected to start on May 1 2004. Applications for this position should include a curriculum vitae including a full list of publications, a brief description of research interests, and a list of at least two references familiar with the applicant's qualifications and experience. Further information is available from Professor David Wardle SLU Umeå, Department of Forest Ecology and Management, e-mail: David.Wardle@.slu.se
