Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences Department of Energy and Technology, Uppsala Postdoctoral researcher in bioenergy markets SLU develops the understanding and sustainable use of biological natural resources.This is achieved through research, teaching, environmental monitoring and assessment and information extension.SLU has 3 000 employees, 4 200 undergraduate and postgraduate students.Main campuses are located at Alnarp, Skara, Uppsala and Ume www.slu.se www.et.slu.se The Department of Energy and Technology has for a long time been active in the field of bioenergy systems and bioenergy markets.The department is now expanding its research activities by appointment of a postdoctoral researcher in bioenergy markets. Work description Markets for bioenergy have traditionally been local or regional, but the present rapid development in the field is leading to geographical expansion to the point where hitherto national markets are now beginning to integrate.The appointed person will work with analysis of national and international development in bioenergy markets.Focus will be on how the process of internationalization is affecting national bioenergy markets, especially with regards to the role of institutions, price development, environmental criteria and certification schemes. The appointed person will work both as an independent researcher as well as participate in the project EUBIONET III - Solutions for biomass fuel market barriers and raw material availability.Qualifications Applicants should have: a PhD degree or equivalent - not older than three years - in a relevant field (e.g forest management, energy engineering or energy economics) good knowledge about Nordic and European bioenergy markets excellent English language skills strong scientific background in quantitative and qualitative market analysis Experience in analysis of energy systems and/or energy markets is desirable.The position is full-time and will be granted for a period of two years, starting as soon as possible.SLU is an equal opportunity employer.
