Lund University is the largest university in Sweden with education and research within technology, natural science, law, social science, economy, medicine, humanities, theology, art, music and theatre.The university has around 39 000 students and 5 500 employees mainly in Lund, Malmö and Helsingborg.The university is one of 14 universities within the Öresund University and co-operates with hundreds of universities and research centres all over the world.Lund University declares the following position open for application: A postgraduate position ('doktorandtjänst') in Planning, focusing on Regional Innovation Systems, full time, placed at Centre for Innovation, Research and Competence in the Learning Economy (CIRCLE).CIRCLE has since its creation in July 2004 established itself as the leading national centre for research on R&D, innovation, entrepreneurship and economic dynamics and is today the largest of the four national research centres of excellence originally funded by VINNOVA from 2004.In 2006 CIRCLE was awarded a 10 year Linnaeus grant for studies of 'Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Knowledge Creation: Dynamics in Globalising Learning Economies'.In the autumn 2007 CIRCLE was co-located with Research Policy Institute and LUIS (Lund University Innovation System) at LUCIE (Lund University Centre for Innovation and Entrepreneurship), which represents a unique unit of research, teaching and the third mission.CIRCLE is becoming one of the largest centres of its kind in Europe with more than 30 researchers.A detailed description of CIRCLE's research programmes as well as the CIRCLE Annual Reports can be found at www.circle.lu.se.This position is within the research area of studies of regional innovation systems.Description of the research area The postgraduate student is in the research project expected to focus on processes, which forms and transforms regional innovation systems.The process perspective implies an approach which put special attention on different types of actors - entrepreneurs, students, university researchers, corporations, public agencies, politicians etc.- and their role in the forming and transforming of innovation systems.Tasks The main tasks associated with this position are primarily research activities towards a postgraduate degree, but some teaching and administration at BTH are also included in the position.Please see the full advertisement and how to apply at www.lu.se/jobb
