Kalmar’s Mobile Equipment division is looking for Powertrain Engineer who will have the responsibility for the development of Power Train regarding products within the Business Counterbalanced Container Handling (CCH) in Mobile Equipment division (ME) based on customer needs, legislation and internal requirements and according to business strategies.
This position is based in our site in Ljungby (Hybrid) and reports directly to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.

Kalmar’s Mobile Equipment division is looking for Powertrain Engineer who will have the responsibility for the development of Power Train regarding products within the Business Counterbalanced Container Handling (CCH) in Mobile Equipment division (ME) based on customer needs, legislation and internal requirements and according to business strategies.
This position is based in our site in Ljungby (Hybrid) and reports directly to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
To lead assigned work with partners, consultants and suppliers.
Together with Principal Systems Engineer (PSE) define specification for components and systems in co-operation with Chief Engineers and responsible R&D Manager.
Secure that components and systems meet specified technical customer demands, product safety, legislations requirements and internal demands for products.
To contribute for co-operation between R&D and Sourcing and Operation.
Responsibility for regularly reporting to responsible R&D Manager and PSE regarding outcome and possible deviations.
According to customer demands choose design, material and components.
In consultation with PSE initiate and order testing for verification and evaluation of a design
Be part of testing of new Powertrain system and components.
What you’ll need to succeed:
Education
Education level needs to be university degree corresponding to area of responsibility or similar knowledge through experience.
Experience
Sound technical knowledge regarding ME product types or similar rubber tire vehicles.
Experience of product development activities is needed.
Experiences from similar tasks are qualifying.
Experiences regarding other Kalmar products are qualifying.
Experience of practical work is qualifying.
Knowledge of Catia V5 or similar program is qualifying.
Competencies
Business and market mindset.
Good communication skills are important.
Good knowledge in engineering tools for design, used by Kalmar.
Analytical and structural ability.
Driving force and be result oriented.
Problem solver.
Positive attitude.
Fluent in Swedish and English both in speaking and writing.
