Are you a great storyteller with a nose for news and engaging content making a difference? Do you have the ability to make big strategic topics easy to grasp? The Volvo Penta team is looking for a PR and Communication Manager Marine who will develop and deliver class- leading communications that will play a vital role in the overall marketing and communication strategies and plans for the marine business unit.
The ideal candidate is an innovative team-player and a driven communications professional who is passionate about working with modern communication ideas and tools to continuous get the voice of Volvo Penta marine heard AND shared by 3rd parties.
The main responsibility for the candidate will be PR and communication but will also support in other areas when needed. The daily marine marketing operations is coordinated by the Vice President Marketing Marine, and you will work closely with both the Marketing Manager for Marine as well as the rest of the Brand, Communication and Marketing team
Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Brand, Marketing and Communication, you will be part of the global Volvo Penta Communication Community with natural access to the larger Volvo Group community.
Key responsibilities
Planning and activation of marine PR and communication strategies in all relevant channels
Driving marine media activation; develop media relations, press releases & QAs, support spoke persons with media training.
Together with Marketing Manager Marine: Manage Social Media content planning in line with Volvo Penta Social Media strategy and processes
Continuously enhancing the digital customer journey together with colleagues in Brand Communication Marketing
Educational Qualifications and experience
Bachelor’s Degree in related field
Minimum 5-10 year’s successful experience in a similar role
Experience from B2C communication is meriting
Critical Competencies
Self-starter with pioneering spirit; able to take ownership quickly and reliably.
Curious with a journalistic mindset to continuously look for good stories and used to manage working hours also outside the regular 9-5.
Hands-on approach, capable of switching between strategic thinking and operational work.
Courage to dare new things to excel previous results
Natural interest in business dynamics
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Fluent in English
Tier One business media experience preferred, but not required
