Aftermarket Technology provides Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks, Mack Trucks, UD Trucks, VECV and partly Volvo Construction Equipment, Volvo Bus, and Volvo Penta with the best possible solutions supporting their aftermarket business. Thanks to our deep technical, business, and customer knowledge, we deliver solutions and services for the salespeople, the mechanics, and parts personnel at dealerships and other service points such as Spare Parts Assortment, Parts Information, Diagnostics and Repair Information, Service Planning and supporting systems solutions and tools. In Aftermarket Technology, we aim to ensure that Volvo Group Truck vehicles can easily be maintained to guarantee uptime. Aftermarket Technology teams are working close to engineering functions as well as to end customers and are located in Hagerstown, Greensboro, Lyon, Gothenburg, Curitiba, and Bangalore.

You will join the Technology & Service Development team (TSD). At TSD, we manage the Advance Engineering Portfolio for aftermarket technologies, aiming to develop new technologies and services and prepare for the future. And most important is to develop the solutions that support our customers and their vehicles to stay on their mission, maximizing Uptime!


As a team, we have skills and competencies in many areas such as mechatronics, data analytics, AI, CAD/PLM, VR/AR, App development, and more.


In predictive maintenance, projects may focus everything from core technologies to integration in end2end solutions, covering anything between sensors and raw data to decision support and visualization.


To be successful in almost everything we do requires us to work in a cross-functional environment, building solutions together with people and teams in different parts of the organization.


As a team, we work, support each other and grow together.


ROLE DESCRIPTION


Your role and primary task are to complement our team with knowledge and knowhow within predictive maintenance in the heavy-duty industry or automotive domain. To bring in and contribute with a holistic view on predictive maintenance, helping us to improve our end-to-end solutions.


It would be best if you were active to grow your network engage with stakeholders and key players in a cross-functional global environment. Together with your colleagues, you will have a leading role in defining strategies and targets. Based on this, you will engage and contribute in activities and make us reach our goals with joint efforts. For some projects, you will take the overall lead.
One specific task will be to engage with and strengthen our data analytic competencies, adding predictive maintenance expertise from the automotive domain. You will also support other roles in developing product and system requirements.

You have a master’s degree in, e.g., Automation, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or equivalent and have probably worked at least four years with predictive maintenance in the automotive/heavy duty industry domain.


You have acquired solid skills and experiences in your previous roles, e.g., sensor development and mechatronics, and data analytics. And in some areas, working with cutting-edge technologies.


You have also been a pivotal contributor to setting targets and building strategies within predictive maintenance.


You are good at structuring your work and tasks but also have experience and capacity from managing smaller project teams to common goals.
