President of Design & Planning Automation

Sandvik Manufacturing Solutions (SMF) is a business area segment with around 600 employees worldwide, incorporating the Additive Manufacturing, Metrology and Design & Planning Automation divisions. SMF develops offers to help customers become even more productive and sustainable by providing software and additive solutions from component design to quality verification. Our ambition is to develop and acquire companies that complement our strong machining solutions offer (managed by our sister business area segment Sandvik Machining Solutions – SMS) to be able to expand, strengthen and find new business opportunities to grow our total business portfolio.
The division Design & Planning Automation currently consist of businesses in computer aided manufacturing and tool data management. We act in a fast paced, software technology and business driven environment, and our aim is to become a world leader within our segment.
Your mission
In this position, you build a customer centric organization with a clear and united vision. You focus on market and customer needs in the area of component design and planning automation, utilizing our strong knowledge of creating advantageous offers based on digital solutions. You are accountable for building a commercial business to automate the customers’ component design and machine planning, that step-by-step take positions by organic growth, but also through mergers and acquisitions. You set the direction and activities to achieve both short and long-term financial and operational objectives. By developing our offer and market leading products, and by driving a strong strategic agenda, you unlock significant value for the organization and our stakeholders. You report directly to the President of Sandvik Manufacturing Solutions and are a valued member of SMF Management team. The location for this position is preferably at our new office site in Stockholm – a place for mixing tech innovation with the core of machining - and international travel is included in your job.
Your background
We’re looking for an experienced leader with a proven track record of driving businesses with a digital agenda – including a profit and loss responsibility - and who combines this with solid understanding of software business used the manufacturing industry. This means that you’re well prepared for the challenge to introduce digital solutions into our industrial setting. You know how to transform a strategic vision into a strong execution plan – and then deliver on the same! You’re also skilled in stakeholder and change management. A relevant business degree is needed, and as we act globally, you must communicate fluently in English, both in speaking and in writing.
You have a strategic, fast paced and entrepreneurial mindset, and this supports you to take front position as digital disruption sweeps through the manufacturing industry. With passion for promoting development and growth, you confidently lead us in finding new business opportunities and initiating change activities. On top of this, you have a well-developed ethical compass, you are a truly communicative leader and you have genuine engagement – qualities that inspire people around you and always leave a positive impact!
