The International School of Helsingborg has provided a truly international education at the Primary and Secondary levels since 1995. Today, we have approximately 850 students between 2 and 19 years of age, across all programmes. We are an IB Continuum school, delivering the International Baccalaureate curriculum for all program levels.  English is the primary language of learning at the school.

Job description
As a primary school Swedish teacher, your role will be to plan, organize, and carry out lessons for the students, ages 6-11 in the primary years program. You will have the overall responsibility for the Swedish language education of the students. You will work closely with the other teachers in our school, particularly the other primary school Swedish teachers and class teachers, following the philosophy of the IB education, but teaching the Swedish language curriculum.

You will be expected to interact with the students in a caring, gentle but firm manner. You will be expected to be professional and flexible, both towards your colleagues and the greater school community.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a teachers degree and teaching qualification in Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language (SVA) in grades 1-6. It's preferred if you have work experience from primary school teaching in grades 1-6, but we welcome newly graduated teachers as well. It is a strong merit if you also have experience with the IB Programme. 

Since we work in an international environment it is a requirement for the position to be strong in English, both verbally and written.

The successful candidate will be a strong team player and have the ability to work collaboratively with co-workers as well as students and parents. You communicate proactively; support and care for others and openly communicate self-insight. As primary Swedish teacher will take the time to get to know the students and speak with them, creating relationships with them. In your role you will take initiative to make the school a place where students thrive.

It is also an expectation that the successful candidate will have a strong ability with modern digital technology and programmes, and have previously used them to communicate with both students and colleagues.
