Join us as a Principal Research Audiologist for a 12 month FTC with the potential to go perm!
This role is responsible for leading our high-performing Clinical Audiology team based in Gothenburg, and for developing and executing a client-focused research programme at Cochlear’s research facility. Provide audiology expertise to aid in the development of reliable, high performing and user-friendly products for our customers, working with highly skilled and dedicated cross-functional business partners. You also will work closely with other clinical departments to provide audiological expertise to aid clinical research and evidence generation over the lifetime of Cochlear’s products.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborating with Clinical Program Managers, Clinical Operations, R&D Project Management, Marketing, Clinical Marketing, Regulatory, Quality, Clinical Evidence, and Finance Stakeholders as the Principle Research Audiologist for acoustics hearing implants throughout product development, registration and post-regulatory approval of Cochlear products
- Planning and oversight of all audiological research activities performed at Cochlear’s own research facility in Mölnlycke.
- Accurately forecast and manage expenditure in line with the approved budget for audiological research activities performed by the Clinical Audiology team in Mölnlycke in collaboration with finance department.
- Act as Principal Investigator for clinical investigations on sound processor and fitting systems conducted at Cochlear’s research facility in Mölnlycke, Sweden.
- Define, develop, and execute research strategies and test plans for audiological evaluation of new and existing sound processor and fitting systems in alignment with Cochlear’s product development projects and product plan.
- Maintain and continuously improve audiological research capabilities and efficiency to meet Cochlear’s future growth strategies.
- Lead a strong and experienced team, driven by a high level of engagement and customer-focus.
Minimum
- University degree in Audiology
- Eligible for recognition as Audiologist (Legitimerad Audionom) in Sweden
- Clinical experience with fitting hearing aids and/or hearing implants
- Experience working with research design, data collection and analysis
- Solid knowledge of audiological test methodologies
- Fluent in English and Swedish
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to concurrently manage competing projects and priorities
- Team player with good ability to work independently
- Previous experience from working as people manager
Ideal:
- PhD degree in Audiology, Pyschoacoutics, Speech and Language therapy, or related research
- Swedish as first language; communication with patients and patients reports need to be completed in Swedish.
- Clinical or research experience of bone conduction hearing implants or similar hearing devices
- Good understanding of commercial aspects of the hearing health market (esp. implantable solutions), customer needs and services.
- Experience in clinical investigations with medical devices in general, and hearing devices in particular
- Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (ISO 14155:2020)
