PRINCIPAL ENGINEER, MARINE FUEL CELL SOLUTIONS

An exciting opportunity has arisen as our Principal Engineer, Marine Fuel Cell Solutions in Kongsberg Maritime! You will be our technical leading role in marine systems designed with fuel cells. In this role you should be passionate about marine technologies through solving environmental challenges for our customers. As our Principal Engineer, Marine Fuel Cells Solutions, you will lead the selection and engineering of fuel cell solutions by combining zero carbon fuel gas supply solutions with e.g reformer technologies, carbon capture or other upcoming technologies for the marine vessel areas.
You will search for solutions to our customers needs, solving their challenges while being commercially oriented. You thrive in dialogues with our customers, find solutions to the ongoing green shift in the industry while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team with extensive knowledge and experience. Key accountabilities
Accountable for the development of our innovative system design with special focus on Fuel Cells technologies and/or other technology solutions coupled with the green shift
Accountable for contact and collaboration with suppliers or partners. Gaining market understanding and what drives our customer needs
Contribute to the integration of Green Fueled Energy Solutions to new or existing ship designs
Accountable for the life-cycle management of the engineered or developed product solutions
Important stakeholder for the interface to other marine systems on the vessel
Proactive communicator with our sales team and our customers

Qualifications and experience
PhD, masters, or bachelor’s degree within a relevant field
Preferably multi-discipline experience or interests within different fuel cell technologies, reformer technologies, carbon capture or other gas handling technologies
Skills or interests in combining a market demand with business and technology for the maritime industry. Knowledge of Class requirements will be an advantage.
