We at Strategy, Facilities and Investment department within Research and Development contribute by ensuring appropriate, sustainable, and functioning test facilities. The department consists of 10 people with different backgrounds and focus areas creating a strong team with extensive knowledge.
As a Process and Media Principal Engineer you will get the opportunity to further grow as a leader and enable Volvo Cars competitiveness by ensuring the process and media supply systems are optimized to fulfill Volvo Cars sustainability targets as well as R&D needs. Together with the team and stakeholder you will play a crucial role to secure infrastructure, enabling not only the sustainability target but also the future prerequisites for testing. The role will develop you within your technical expertise area as well as strategic and business sense.

What you will do
As an engineer at Volvo Cars, you will own the R&D process & media system. Parts of your responsibility is to define the strategies, drive improvements and secure the operation. To secure our systems for the future, you will develop, enforce, and maintain strategies considering new operations, capacities, technologies, and sustainability targets. As an expert within the area, you will define requirements in new test facility investments, including not only technical but also system documentation, specifications, manuals, energy, and environmental requirements.
With your knowledge you will support investment projects and drive improvements by identifying energy savings and addressing needed actions. You will also lead the coordination of energy teams within R&D Gothenburg and Hällered Proving Ground. The operations will be secured by define and align operational and maintenance plans with Maintenance Department and users. A key to reach an optimal operation will require you to collaborate closely with Maintenance Department and Asset Property Management Department who are responsible for buildings and belonging systems.
You and your skills
We believe you have a MSc or BSc in relevant field, alternatively engineering degree combined with multiyear experience. Knowledge in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) with process or energy focus and experience of HVAC systems, process industry or operation/maintenance.
You are fluent in English, both written and spoken. Swedish is meritorious.
To thrive in this position, you have genuine interest in Process & Media systems and believe there is always possibilities to utilize. You have good collaboration skills and like to interact with others while still enjoy deep dive analyses on your own. As a person you are engaging and enthusiastic with a strategic mindset. You possess a strong initiative and ability to make things happen and are not afraid to speak up. You prefer clear and direct communication and have a pedagogical approach.
