What we offer
In our journey towards a sustainable future a new focus area was discovered, thermal efficiency. We strive towards energy efficient cars with maximum range and are one of the attribute teams at Sustainability Centre.

As a part of the Thermal Efficiency team, you will take part in developing this new focus area, finding new methods and ways of working to minimize thermal losses and unnecessary usage of energy. 

What you’ll do
As a Principal Engineer your focus will be the technical aspects of simulation and physical verification of thermal efficiency. You will be the go-to person for technical questions from the teams, both the teams in Gothenburg and the teams China (PDS). This means that you will handle cars with combustion engines (ICE), hybrid cars (HEV) and pure electric cars (BEV) at the same time and even if your main focus will be to develop new technologies you will be responsible for education and answering questions from our newly created team in PDS working with ICE and HEV cars.

You will be part of an agile team and take items from the teams backlog, some of the items might only be applicable for you and it is expected of you to take a large responsibility in creating your own stories, together with the PO, to help the teams move forward in becoming leading in thermal efficiency.

Areas of responsibily:
•    Taking part in new method development for thermal efficiency
•    Drive technical development in the teams by combining a deep technical knowledge with the ability to motivate and educate
•    Create stories together with the Product Owner that helps drive thermal efficiency development forward
•    Be a go-to person for technical question from colleagues
•    Support the teams in performing physical testing in the wind tunnels and in rigs
•    Support the teams in performing simulations and build models in 3D and 1D
•    Support the PDS team in ICE and HEV related testing
•    Support the teams in create attribute requirements 
•    Participate in daily stand-ups and present at demos

You and your skills
We see that you have a university degree in Engineering or equivalent working experience, as well as experience from working with CFD, 3D and 1D, and physical verification in the wind tunnel. Your English is fluent (written and spoken), and preferably you have experience from working with, or in relation to thermal management for several years.  You have a genuine car interest and are motivated by helping and educate others. 

To be a member of a team is your preferred way of working and you don’t hesitate to take on challenging technical tasks that might be completely new to our organisation.
