Principal Geochemist

Task and duties
As Principal Geochemist, you will be responsible for securing and improving the quality of our geochemistry data as well as providing geochemistry expertise to ongoing exploration programs. Your work tasks will include:

QA/QC procedures and ongoing reporting
Assisting in design of geochemical sampling campaigns
Assisting in the collection, management, interpretation and modelling of geochemical data
Maintaining a working relationship with laboratories
Understanding of mineral systems and their geochemical signature
Project management
Contributing to the development and implementation of new methods and technologies
Coordination of research collaborations with external partners, and supervision of MSc and PhD students


We endeavor to ensure mobility within the company and this position will involve some travel and short periods working in other countries. The position is permanent employment, full-time Monday to Friday and based in one of our Exploration offices (preferably the Boliden Office). You will report to Manager Expert Group Exploration.
Education and experience
We are looking for an MSc or PhD in Geoscience with minimum of 10 years' experience within the mining and exploration industry. You should have experience working with common industry software. Advanced knowledge of ioGAS is preferred. This position requires proficiency in both written and spoken English. You will be expected to be a skilled communicator and be result-oriented, flexible and capable of working independently and as part of a team, with the aim of contributing to the company's development. An EU category B driving license, or equivalent, is a requirement.
