Job Description
In this role you will have a leading part in the exploration of powertrain concepts within the Powertrain Strategic Development team. Extensive knowledge in thermodynamics, physics/chemistry, and energy conversion and related analytical tools. The concept architect role includes both evaluation, exploration, and innovation of new powertrain technology concepts, ranging for combustion engine to fuel cell applications solutions. To lead activities in order to guide our development projects, as well as be responsible of the architectural selections. All in all an exciting role with a wide span from strategies to details.
You will have opportunities to represent the Volvo Group in both external, international and internal activities Aiming to meet the exciting future in energy efficiency, energy usage and legislations.


Who are you?
You possess a drive and skills enough to enjoy exploring new propulsion technology taking initiatives, and love to works as team player with people you work with. You always do it with high integrity in order to create an open and transparent environment.
You have a well-established thermodynamic, physic/chemistry and energy conversion technology background, with established experience from the vehicle industry within powertrain architectural matters from hybrid or fuel cell system development, preferably in the field of heavy duty power operations.
PhD or Master of Science (or equivalent)

A positive mindset and “we-can-do-it attitude” characterizes your personal profile. You are confident in push and drive new innovative and creative thinking to formulating new concepts topics inside as well as outside your own organization. You possess very good communication skills and you are comfortable in guiding the organization to make difficult decisions in complex matters.
