As a Principal Scientist - Hepatic Translational Safety Expert at AstraZeneca, you'll be a scientific leader in the development of a brand-new hepatic translational safety group. As a Principal Scientist - Hepatic Translational Safety Expert your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

- A PhD-level education (or equivalent) in toxicology, pathology or a related scientific discipline
- A detailed knowledge of hepatic toxicology and pathology combined with a good understanding of hepatobiliary metabolism and excretion
-At least 5-10 years experience in drug discovery and development setting in pharmaceutical industry
-Team leadership experience
-An awareness of local compliance systems and regulations
-A working knowledge of patent and IP strategies

As a Principal Scientist - Hepatic Translational Safety Expert your main responsibilities will involve:

-Defining, delivering and directing an integrated strategic approach to the non-clinical assessment of safety risks associated with the liver
-Providing expert opinion on the design, conduct, analysis, reporting, interpretation and contextualisation of liver safety studies
-Continually reviewing strategy to make sure identified gaps are filled
-Overseeing large and complex studies and research projects aimed at observing the reactions of various organisms to new drugs and agents
-Developing predictions and conclusions from research
