Role Summary/Purpose:
To become a total solution provider GEHC Life Sciences needs to strengthen it's position in the Upstream area, and especially to increase the expert competence in cell culture. The Staff Scientist will be responsible for scientific input in upstream R&D projects, provide general support within the BioProcess area and in customer interactions/collaborations, and be R&D expert in Tech intake discussions and Business development activities.
Essential Responsibilities:
Scientific leadership and ability to work and act throughout the BioProcess organization.
Act as scientific mentor for R&D personnel.
Generate ideas and patents and facilitate ideas and patents from others.
Drive development of cell line development area within the organization.
Represent the department and the cell culture domain in strategic processes within GEHC, working closely with Marketing and Product marketing to provide scientific, technical and business input.
Actively work to identify and promote new business opportunities for Life Science based on market trends and technology developments.
Secure cross functional and global innovation and technology coordination within the organization.
Strong External focus: build, maintain and spread knowledge in entire organization.
Build and maintain an external network covering customers, technology and science.
Initiate and lead external collaborations.
Build and maintain good knowledge of competitors and competing products/technologies.
Participate in evaluation of external technology.
External visibility by oral and poster presentations at external conferences and/or by publishing papers in scientific journals.
Actively work to network and contribute with know-how across the BioProcess R&D organization.
Qualifications/Requirements:
PhD or similar competence in BioProcess or related area.
Extensive experience from Industry work in Upstream area, and with focus on Cell line development and or cell culture optimization.
Large experience with customer interactions and sound business thinking, strong understanding of industry trends.
Strong leadership skills, structured and organised team player, strong communication skills.
Fluent in English both verbally and in writing.
EU work permit.
