Every year 6 billion SEK of personal accident insurance compensation go unclaimed in Sweden! Why so?
One of the main reasons is that it is complicated to go through the insurance claiming process, which requires time, knowledge, and patience.
With Insurello, there is no need to understand insurance-specific language, be equipped with plenty of time, or have a specific background. We want to help all people claim their accident insurance compensation smoothly and transparently online and change the insurance landscape for the better. Our vision is to rebalance the power between customers and the insurance companies, enabling fair compensation for all.
The role
Insurello is deeply committed to protecting our users' personal data and we in the Legal team are now looking for a thoughtful lawyer with a passion for privacy to prioritise and deliver upon our privacy compliance strategy as we continue our rapid growth journey.
As a Privacy Legal Counsel at Insurello, you will play a central part in the in-house Legal function and have an opportunity to lead on a wide range of privacy-related projects that span different products and markets. You will report to the Head of Legal in Stockholm and work closely with legal colleagues across our European markets, as well as with other departments in the organization as a sounding board and advisor.
Projects will be varied, but areas of responsibility and involvement will include:
- Partnering with all business areas to ensure privacy issues are considered at the outset of new projects, products and initiatives;
- Advising and supporting operational, product and in-house functions on GDPR-related queries and workstreams, being top-of-mind on privacy issues throughout our international organization;
- Owning and keeping under review Insurello’s privacy compliance arrangements, including updating policies and guidance, optimizing routines and processes, and putting in place remedial plans where necessary;
- Maintaining training materials and carrying out training sessions on privacy matters for different markets and parts of the organization; and
- Horizon-scanning for regulatory and judicial updates relating to privacy matters, and monitoring the industry landscape to keep visibility on evolutions, trends and best practices related to privacy.
Going forward, you will also have opportunities to learn about and get involved with other compliance areas at Insurello.
Is this you?
To quickly dive into the role, we believe that you should have:
- Swedish LL.M. preferred (European law degree will be considered).
- 1-5 years’ experience at a law firm, an in-house legal role or working for a public authority.
- Experience in working with privacy/GDPR matters.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English, with Swedish language proficiency.
It is extra amazing if you have:
- 💫 Experience of compliance work generally;
- 💫 Experience from a tech start-up/scale-up.
We also would love if you could describe yourself as:
- Passionate for the details with a structured way of working;
- Communicative, initiative-taking and a real team player;
- Curious and eager to learn, including about other areas of the business.
