At ABB, we have the clear goal of driving diversity and inclusion across all dimensions: gender, LGBTQ+, abilities, ethnicity and generations. Together, we are embarking on a journey where each and every one of us, individually and collectively, welcomes and celebrates individual differences.
Process Industries/Pulp&Paper is a unit within Process Automation. Our team represents the ABB portfolio for Quality Management Systems and Advanced Process Controls. We are the global market leader in online quality measurements, system solutions, and advanced services for the Pulp and Paper industry. Our customers are Pulp&Paper mills and biorefining plants primarily in Scandinavia but also outside, and our mission is to help them optimize the quality of their products while preserving energy and raw materials. We are a small and focused organization of around 20 employees with an office in Kista but also distributed in other offices.
As a Process Control Engineer you will have a lead technical role in our delivery projects and in supporting the performance of our installed systems. You will work closely with our customers to understand their processes and to find the best control solutions and operations to optimize the performance. The work includes hands on process identification and model-based control tuning, theoretical analyses and performance evaluation but also the direct communication with the users of our solutions. In this role you will be a part of a team of process control engineers working sometimes individually on assignments and sometimes in a project team. In this role, you will report to the business operations manager for QMS/APC projects and service.
Your responsibilities
Support the initial analyses of process performance and opportunities for improvements in the sales phase of a Project.
Act as a lead engineer with the functional responsibility within a project for process analyses, control specification, application adaption and functional tests.

Responsibility for data collection and results analysis, providing the base for reaching contractual performance guarantees.
Communicate activities and results to the customer project team and process operators.
Conduct regular service audits and activities on the installed systems as well as assuming assignments to change and improve existing systems within our service operations.
The work is carried out partly in the office, with remote connections to customer sites and partly travelling to customer plants distributed all over the region.

Your background
You have a master’s degree in engineering or equivalent preferable in control theory.
Prior work experience from the pulp and paper industry is a merit.
Knowledge in Matlab and other modelling tools is an advantage.
You are fluent in both English and Swedish.
Ability to present results, based on theoretical analysis and performance evaluation, in a comprehensive and straightforward fashion.
As a person you are both analytical, experimental and innovative.
For the position you are required to hold a Swedish B-driver’s license.
