In the role as Process Development Engineer in the Meltshop department, you are the key person in the heart of our steel production. The role of process engineer is varied and stimulating. You are working with the whole process line – from idea to production – no day is the other alike and that is especially true since we at Outokumpu continuously strive to improve not only our products and processes, but also the career paths and the professional satisfaction of our employees.

About the role
Be responsible for group process methods related to reducing costs and time waste, improving efficiency and quality of Outokumpu products and processes
Support process groups in developing and following up KPIs
Analyze data and observations to assemble and present improvements to management
Be a process expert and lead product line projects within Avesta Works
Lead the implementation of continuous improvement strategies within given process group
Participate in research on-site and within Outokumpu globally
Report KPIs and deviations from standards as well as training operators in conducting such reports


About you
Master’s degree of engineering focused in metallurgy, material, manufacturing, industrial economics or equivalent
Previous experience working in similar role or industry is advantage
Six Sigma and/or LEAN certifications is highly valued
Project management and willingness to lead continuous improvement projects
You thrive by innovation and have a proactive mindset, with capacity to be systematic and have a helicopter perspective
Very good ability to communicate, cooperate & coach colleagues and stakeholders
Fluency in Swedish and English (written & verbal) is required
