We are looking for a Process development engineer for our Thermoformed Biocomposites Business. You will be working in the Packaging Solutions Division and you will report to the Business Director of Thermoforming. Location: Hyltebruk.

The Biocomposites team is constantly developing new materials and products to meet customers and consumers’ needs. Our dedicated team in Hyltebruk is now looking for a Process Development Engineer to complement our team, ready to develop technology and process for new renewable and recyclable packaging solutions, together with experts in material and barrier development. Responsibility
The purpose of this position is to be one of the drivers in R&D projects for new materials and products to replace plastics, focusing on process development related to scalability and processability of small size mass product for single use.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
• move R&D projects from lab to pilot to industrial scale
• establish suitable processes/machines/automation related to project technologies
• plan and implement other production related aspects, such as GMP, Food Contact approval, etc.
• develop and test technology suitable processes and machines
• plan, perform and analyse trials to scale up project related technologies
• participate in pilot and full-scale production trials together with team and customers
• participate in developing new materials, barriers and technologies within the Formed Biocomposite roadmap
• generate and develop Intellectual property
• be the technical contact for external process related partners.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you have a relevant academic background in engineering, material science, polymer conversion, thermoforming/press forming processes or automation. Experiences from paper & pulp or similar as well as food processing is beneficial.
You have 3-5 years of relevant work experience. You are proficient in English, preferably also in Swedish. 3D- and automation/process/production-modelling as well as barrier dispersion knowledge is a key advantage.
You are a highly driven and self-motivated individual with the ability to take on work tasks beyond your daily duties. You also have the ability to assess technical feasibility of new technologies and their potential on scalability and to bring value for business. Your creative yet structured mindset allows you to quickly build views on interaction of technologies and its impact on IP landscape.
