Separation Products is a department within AkzoNobel Pulp and Performance Chemicals, with 2 400 employees in 35 countries, it is a global business unit within AkzoNobel, one of the world's largest chemical groups, with about 50 000 employees in more than 80 countries.

Responsibilities
As a Process Development Engineer at Separation Products you will contribute to the development of new products, processes and applications within specified areas related to project activity targets. Independently and together with colleagues you will execute activities and contribute to the continuous buildup of knowledge around our products, processes and applications. You will ensure that appropriate methods and equipment are used for the experiments and if necessary be able to improve methods and adapt equipment for specific tasks. You make literature- and patent searches, write reports and presents results. You contribute to the development and documentation of recipes and procedures in order to give recommendations for production. On a daily basis you are part of the safety work in the lab and pilot plant facilities to minimize the risk for incidents.

Requirements
Master of Science in chemistry/chemical engineering or corresponding. Alternatively, a bachelor of science and 3-4 years of relevant working experience
Experience from laboratory work
Exceptional communication skills in writing reports and presenting results
Good ability to communicate in English
Preferably knowledge of chromatography, especially HPLC and Prep
Preferably hands on experience from production organization within process industry
Medium-good knowledge within colloidal and surface chemistry.
Medium-good knowledge on the (Kromasil) manufacturing technology for porous inorganic materials and particles for use in chromatographic applications.

To be successful in this position you should have a high focus on quality in all parts of work and used to work with deadlines. You are a good communicator, verbal as written and you have a strong ability to cooperate within teams, adaptable to changes in cultural environments. You are organized, result oriented and able to work independently.
