Job Description
For a technically advanced customer in Trollhättan we are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to their Research Centre. As a Senior Design Engineer you will work with composite design in general and with an emphasis on Aerospace applications. Design and material questions related to future engine component designs will be part of you everyday work. You will lead work packages where you together with university partners will work on research questions regarding composite materials.
Your focus will be on the next generation technologies for compressor and fan structures in composite and metallic materials. This work will be done in internal technology development projects, technology demonstrators and in research project often done in collaboration with partners both from EU and USA. In your role you will:
Select the best combination of processes and materials for different product application
Specify and test out manufacturing processes
Work hands-on in the workshop with designed processes
Continuously work to avoid problems that might arise during the manufacturing process for the finished product
Make sure that the products comply with national and international legislation and standards
Be cost conscious when deciding upon which materials to be used. Both from a time, money and sustainability point of view

Qualifications
To succeed in the role we believe you have a master's degree in a relevant field of engineering such as Materials or Mechanical Engineering. You have and interest and a strong profile in designing and testing out manufacturing processes from composites.
You can understand the needs of the research program regarding material selection and design criteria. Your communication skills are excellent and since the customer work in an international environment professional proficiency in English is needed. Swedish is considered meritorious.
You can act as a leader for research in the field of composite design and materials for engine structures.
In the role you will have a wide network of contacts, requiring good social skills and the ability to take on a technical responsibility role.
