Process Engineer

Northvolt has an exciting job offer for a Process Engineer to join our passionate Cylindrical team in Västerås. In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in building one of the first large scale European Battery Factories. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society.
The Process Engineer are experts in one or several defined process areas within Li-ion battery cell production which includes deep knowledge in process design, equipment handling, maintenance planning and control design etc. You will join a Cylindrical team to support scale production processes. Responsibilities may include manufacturing process improvement and modification, expansion of process capabilities, and further enhancement of material technology, while ensuring a safe and cost-effective work environment.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Advance internal manufacturing capability by partnering with international vendors to evaluate new technologies for scaling production processes for both existing and new products
Plan and execute hands-on technical work using advanced statistical techniques including Design of Experiments (DoE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC)
Lead the improvement projects and update the progress in the factory
Finalize the process windows and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) with other engineering teams

The person we are looking for has a solid experience in Li-ion battery call manufacturing processes and has been driving large, innovative and challenging projects with high demands. Skills & Requirements
Education/Experience
BSc or MSc degree in Physics/Chemistry/Manufacturing Engineering
3+ years of direct hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment as a Process Engineer
Successful track record of leading process improvement projects in a production factory
Experience from scaling production in a fast-growing environment ideally in the Battery, Automotive, Food, Pharma, Paper & Pulp, Semiconductor, Electrochemical or similar industry

Specific Skills/Abilities
Excellent English written and oral skills
Familiar with DOE, SPC, and DFMEA
Curious, technically educated, and preferably with a strong business background
A structured approach to working and problem solving
