Process Engineer, Facility process/Testcells Maintenance for Volvo GTT Testing Facilities
What does maintenance mean to you? Fix old broken equipment to work for another week or ensure that a high-tech development department can deliver. We are looking for a Process engineer at Verification, testing & materials technology to help us lead and develop the service of our existing and upcoming Testing laboratories. Facility process and test cells maintenance are an important part of the development work to create conditions to develop the world’s best powertrains for trucks, buses, marine and construction equipment. Our team ensures laboratory performance and quality through our maintenance and service of equipment and all media systems for the complete Verification, testing & materials technology. The team you will join consists of 15 high skilled persons in the maintenance areas process/mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and mechanics.
In your role as Process Engineer with focus on testing facilities for engine, system, transmission & Electromobility test cells, you will be one of the main player for our maintenance support in this area. As we work team oriented, you will never standalone if you face challenges you need support to solve.
Facility process and test cells maintenance are in a focused phase both of improving our preventive maintenance work to reach superior maintenance and be part of our future test facilities. We hope you are able to join us!
Main responsibilities
The work includes working with and having extensive knowledge/experience within several different systems in an testing Facility:
Plan and coordinate the preventive & corretive maintenance of various Process equipment such as(HVAC): fans, pumps, cooling machines, cooling towers, compressors in a testing facility with testcells
Lead the work of hired service contractors and manage the procurement and follow-up of service services and spare parts
Developing, maintenance routines and instructions for preventive maintenance of Facility process equipment and other rig equipment to secure operation
Monitoring of equipment – including regular testing and ensuring maintenance tasks are carried out
Assisting Process Technicians in troubleshooting in the event of a problem
Continual evaluation of equipment and processes to ensure both efficiency and quality remain high
Modify and optimize equipment and processes that are already in place
Budget responsibilities
Purchasing and handling of service contracts and spare parts
Data collection and interpretation
Planning and installation of new equipment
Completion of documentation to show and ensure compliance with both internal and external regulations and protocols
Life cycle analysis of facility process equipment, technical requirements and be part of the other activities in the development of new Facility process equipment
Risk assessments of the equipment and processes being used. Of course, this refers to staff safety and safety within the testing facility, but this can also extend outwards to include things such as the environmental impact
Qualifications and Skills
This position will require education BSc. Engineer within Energy, Marine, Mechatronics or automation engineering
Minimum 3 years of experience from automotive industry, test facilities or related production industries.
Monitoring energy systems, including heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC)
PLC communication & programming (Siemens, ABB etc) for Facility process and testcells
Experience of the different equipment in testing facility (Siemens, ABB etc) and understanding of how they integrate. Electric parts in different conditioning systems (fuel, oil, coolant, etc.) both in facility process systems and test cells systems. Control and regulation of valves and controls
Experience of SCADA iFIX or other facility monitoring/control systems
Practical experience of reading flow charts and electrical drawings, manuals and to understand the functions based on them is a merit
Language
Fluent in Swedish and English, booth written and spoken
