Process Engineer

Getinge Sterilization AB is now recruiting a Process Engineer for Steam- and Low temperature sterilizers within the business area Surgical Workflows, which is part of Getinge Group. We develop products for the Healthcare and Life Science sector aimed for the global market. The position:
In this position, you will be part of our R&D organization. Your responsibility involves mechanical and process design within sterilizer projects, including corresponding documentation according to specifications and agreed time lines. The long-term objective is to develop state of the art sterilizer process expertize, for steam and/or chemical sterilization methods. You will work close to other senior process engineers for Sterilizers as well as with project management, mechanical/electrical/software engineers and with the test and verification department.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Requirement management for sterilizers
- Mechanical and piping design for sterilizers
- Technical development of processes for sterilizers
- Platform and modular design
- Interlock and safety design
- Be part of and support both new development projects as well as sustaining engineering activities.
- Steam technology and thermodynamics development
- Read, analyze and comprehend applicable standards
The position is located in Getinge outside Halmstad and reports to the R&D Manager.


The ideal candidate:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience in product development
- Academic degree in engineering (M.Sc. in relevant field)
- You are used to, and motivated by, combining both theoretical and practical work
- Fluently speaking and writing both English and Swedish
- Experience from medical device development (or other regulatory controlled products).
- Experience from steam technology and thermodynamics
- Knowledgeable in steam- and/or chemical process development
- You are equally comfortable with working independently as well as working in teams
- Familiar with microbiological evaluation methods and inactivation of microorganisms
