Zinkgruvan is an underground mine with a long production history since 1857. The operation is comprised of the underground mine, a processing plant, and other associated infrastructure. Zinkgruvan produces concentrates with zinc, lead and copper, metals of crucial importance to modern society. This makes us an important player in climate change. The business is located just outside Askersund, close to both nature and the city. We are Sweden's oldest and southernmost operating mine and employ 460 workers in a wide range of professional roles. Zinkgruvan Mining is part of the Lundin Mining Corporation with headquarters in Canada and operations worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide daily technical support to plant operations and troubleshoot metallurgical process issues affecting plant performance.
• Provide technical input to other key departments including maintenance, instrumentation, environmental, projects and budget planning.
• Monitoring of key process analysis equipment including belt scales, automatic samplers and on-stream analyzer.
• Analysis of production results and collaboration with assay laboratory to ensure availability of reliable production data.
• Metallurgical balancing and production reporting: Monitoring and reporting of plant performance in terms of key performance indicators such as throughput, down-time, recovery, and concentrate quality.
• Continuous improvement: Identification of bottlenecks/process improvement opportunities through collection and analysis of process data. Includes planning and execution of plant survey projects and laboratory testwork.
• Development of improvement action plans. Analysis of payback and prioritization of proposed solutions followed by project execution and evaluation of results.
• Development and implementation of new procedures to ensure safe and efficient operation.
Required Skills and Competencies:
• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as metallurgy or chemical engineering.
• Experience in base metal flotation operations.
• Ability to analyze technical data and effectively communicate observations and conclusions.
• Excellent written and oral communication in English and/or Swedish.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously
