Northvolt has exciting job offers for Process Engineers to join our bold Battery Systems team in Stockholm.
In joining us you will play an important part from the very start in developing a new generation of battery system and building a large scale European battery factory. Northvolt will play an important role in the transformation to a carbon free society, and this is your opportunity to take part in leading those efforts and help drive us to success.
We are continuously building a team of both experienced engineers and great leaders with engineering background.
The Process Engineers will be experts in one or several defined process areas which includes deep knowledge in battery systems product and process design, process DOEs, product testing and requirements, prototype builds and new product industrialization. You will play an important role to interface with equipment suppliers and to collaborate with Northvolt equipment and factory design teams to efficiently integrate the process, equipment, and factory.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Drive Development of new/innovative manufacturing processes
Proof-of-Concept thru full-scale production
Process Owners and Protype Process Engineers
Architect, Concept, Develop, Test, and Implement
Characterize existing processes
Define critical parameters and establish controls to ensure capability
Run Pilot-Scale Trials and Prototype Builds to assess manufacturability
Execute DOEs to optimize process conditions and improve output
Data analysis and interpretation
Lead Design for Manufacturability
Drive Process Commissioning on new equipment and production lines
Establish Process controls for SPC
Develop and Drive PFMEA
Assist in supplier selection for equipment and components

Skills & Requirements
Education/Experience
BSc or MSc degree in Physics/Chemistry/Manufacturing Engineering
3+ years of relevant work experience within new product and process development
Proven successful leadership in a multicultural environment
Familiar with DOE and SPC
Familiar with DFMEA and QA troubleshooting tools
Successful track record of leading process develop projects in prototype and production factories
Experience with evolving products and processes from prototype through production in a fast-growing environment ideally in the Food, Pharma, Paper & Pulp, Semiconductor, Electrochemical or similar industry
Curious, technically educated
Experience and interest in manufacturing industry is a plus



Specific Skills/Abilities
Excellent English written and oral skills, Swedish is a plus
Proactive and goes beyond expectations
Exceptionally good negotiation and problem-solving skills
Has a can do attitude and an entrepreneurial spirit
Ability to work well with others in a team environment, as well as independently
Ability to work in a high profile and often high pressured international environment
