Process Engineer to Process Technical Services in Nynäshamn
We are currently recruiting a Process Engineer for the Process Technical Services department at Nynas’ refinery in Nynäshamn.
Key responsibilities
As position holder, you are part of the Process Technical Services department.
Your role will be to ensure continuous improvements at the refinery, focusing on margin, availability and safety.
You contribute with process technical services, like process units follow-up, risk-analyses, investigations, education and advice which means:
- use simulation tools like PetroSim to investigate or develop your units
- develop, track and monitor process unit KPIs
- analyze data for process units to ensure overall plant performance measures are met
- make recommendations to improve unit yield and/or optimize energy consumption
- perform engineering calculations (i.e., mass balances, energy balances, conversion calculations) to optimize or verify equipment design
You develop and maintain unit operating Process Safety Information
You initiate and review Management Of Change (MOC) for unit operation
You develop and improve unit Operating Procedures, Training materials and Operating Limits
You maintain Process & Instrument Diagrams (P&ID), Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), Process Schematics, Block Diagrams, etc.
You participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) reviews, addressing action items requiring process engineering support
You monitor and optimize catalyst operating conditions to maximize useful life, rate, cost and yield performance
You initiate and prioritize changes and investments and follow them all the way to implementation. Some contact with external suppliers is to be expected.
You provide Process Engineering support during turnarounds
You provide technical support to operations during abnormal modes of operation
You have contact with external suppliers of services or equipment that can improve the operation and efficiency of your units

Candidate Profile
To succeed in your work at Nynas as a Process Engineer we expect you to hold a MSc. in Chemical Engineering with focus on process industry. Fluency in English is required and Swedish skills are meriting.
On the personal level, we are looking for a person who lives our company values – dedication, cooperation and proactivity. You need to be result orientated and structured on a daily basis. To qualify for this position, a combination of strong communication skills and analytical focus is required.
