Scania is undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses, gearboxes and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

In heat treatment and shot peening for transmissions we are also undergoing the same transformation towards sustainable production with new technologies being evaluated and implemented to minimize the impact from production and improving the work environment and efficiency.

Do you want to be involved in developing the heat treatment and materials design in a production environment?

In the technology organization at Transmission Manufacturing (DXT), we support with our expertise within product development as well as challenges we meet in our ongoing production flow.

We are looking for a process engineer who wants to be part of the journey.

Tasks
As a process engineer with us, you work in close collaboration with R&D, production, as well as with production engineers within the group. You will have a wide network of contacts throughout the company as well as with external suppliers and partners, both national and international.

The office is located in Södertälje. As a process engineer, you will have a central role in the competence development around heat treatment production at Scania. 

You will belong to a team of production engineers and process engineers with a great commitment.

Typical work assignments as a process engineer:


• Evaluating heat treatment results and follow up together with material laboratory and production
• Support technical department DXT with competence and involvement in investment projects
• Support production with problem solving, ex during unexpecting events in heat treatment.
• Design for manufacturing together with pre-process engineers and R&D

Your profile
We are looking for a results-driven person with a strong technical interest. To succeed in the position, you should have the following background:


• University or civil engineer with focus on material science
• Experience from a previous position as a process engineer or production experience
• Ability to analyze complex situations in a structured way
• Creative and solution-oriented
• Ability and willingness to share experiences and guide colleagues
• As the job includes international contacts, English at a professional level is a requirement.
