Process Operator
Do you have experience within process industry and want to work with products that can really make a difference in the field of regenerative medicine? Join our production team that produces human recombinant laminins that are sold as a culturing platform for different types of primary cells. The demand for our products is increasing around the world and we therefore need to expand our production team in Sundbyberg, just outside Stockholm. We are looking for a thorough and detail-oriented Process Operator.
RESPONSIBILITES
As a Process Operator you will work with product manufacturing and product manufacturing support activities. This involves working independently and in a team with mainly routine manufacturing processes: Cell culturing in suspension and adherent cell cultures, and protein purification. Work is conducted in clean room environment according to Standard operating procedures and carefully documented in batch protocols.
Daily tasks may include, but are not limited to:
Cell culturing in suspension culture and adherent cell culture
Receipt, control and release of raw materials used in production
Media preparation / buffer preparation and filtration
Taking care of lab ware, washing and autoclaving, taking care of waste
Monitoring of processes
Assuming equipment responsibility to ensure equipment are maintained according to routine
Support safe work environment
Documentation of completed tasks in batch records and logbooks
Performing molecular biology and analytical methods, such as electrophoresis, Western blot, spectrophotometry and PCR
Purification of biological macromolecules, filtration and chromatography
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have a laboratory science background and/or previous experience of working in the process industry with upstream processing, or equivalent qualification. Experience also from downstream processing is an advantage but not requirement.
Experience of cell culturing is an advantage
Experience in biotechnological production of recombinant proteins, aseptic working technique, cleanrooms is an advantage.
Reliability, interpersonal skills and attention to details are highly valued
Bachelor's degree within Science, technology, biochemistry or equivalent is a plus but not absolute requirement
Basic office computing skills – Word and Excel
Working according to GMP it is an advantage but not a requirement.
Good knowledge of English both spoken and in writing. Knowledge of Swedish is a plus.
As part of a small biotech production team, the position will require a self-motivated person with enthusiastic positive attitude, and an excellent multi-tasking skill.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The position involves routine work including repetitive tasks, some of which require frequent bending, crouching and stretching. Position also includes repetitive tasks using arms/hands/wrists/grips. Assisting in heavy lifts (not more than 50 kg) may occur.
Working in the production facility requires wearing of necessary protective gear as handling of hazardous chemicals and high temperatures is sometimes necessary. Work in the facility also means exposure to limited amount of noise (>85 dBA).
