We are looking for a Process Safety Director to sustain compliance with applicable PSM regulations while developing and implementing all aspects of a new integrated process safety framework across the Group. As a Process Safety Director, you will also be accountable for driving compliance with local regulatory requirements in process safety. The primary location for the position is Helsinki but we are flexible for other locations. You will be reporting to the Head of Group Safety and working cooperatively with Group, Divisional and Local stakeholders and across functions.

The key tasks for the position include:
Leading the development and implementation of the Group’s Process Safety framework within a strategic function; to safeguard the environment, protect the wellbeing of individuals and minimize business risk
Fostering a business culture which places high value on minimizing risk and delivering excellent performance against (Process) Safety KPIs
Providing functional support for all sites globally, mainly in the domain of process safety, risk assessments, root cause analysis and auditing

Qualifications
We are looking for someone with a master’s degree in chemical engineering or in other relevant field, as well as 6 - 10 years’ experience from a relevant expert/manager position, preferably in safety or process engineering, in a multi-cultural industrial environment. You communicate fluently in English; other languages e.g. Finnish and/or Swedish language skills are an advantage.

You are performance oriented and have the ability to always deliver against set targets and deadlines. We appreciate systematic and analytical way of working and ability to work in an open and dynamic environment under high time pressure and with a high level of independence. To succeed in this role, you need to be service-minded and a good team player, open and inclusive; you have the ability to collaborate with stakeholders on various levels both internally and externally.
In addition, we are looking for these qualities when selecting for this position:
Detailed understanding of energy, high temperature and high-pressure installations and wood & pulp chemistry
Extensive knowledge of HAZOP, LOPA and SIL and/or different process risk assessment and evaluation techniques
Extensive knowledge of different RCA techniques, including human factor analysis
Project management skills
Understanding of safety metrics and KPIs
