The role of a process engineer is diverse and invigorating. You are working with the whole process line – from idea to production – cooperating with many colleagues across multiple departments. No day is like the other and that is especially true since we at Outokumpu continuously strive to improve not only our products and processes but also the career paths and the professional satisfaction of our employees.
In this role, you will be given to chance to share your expertise in our Hot Rolling Mill – leading development projects – while enjoying the welcoming atmosphere of the world leader in sustainable steel.

Your role
Be responsible for group process methods related to reducing cost and time wastes, improving efficiency, quality, and sustainability of Outokumpu products and processes
Develop and follow up KPIs
Analyze data, identify discrepancies, and propose improvements
Be a process expert and lead product line projects within Avesta Works
Lead the implementation of continuous improvement strategies
Participate in research on-site and within Outokumpu globally
Report KPIs and deviations from standards as well as training operators in conducting such reports


Who are you?
We are searching for you who are interested in how sustainable thinking can be applied to the steel industry. You listen to others, but also know when to take the initiative. You’re curious about the relationship between cause and effect and inspired by finding the solutions to any challenges that come your way.
It is a merit if you have some experience working in the manufacturing industry, with metals, or improvement projects, but we’re open to any qualified individual willing to grow.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree of engineering, focused in relevant fields such as metal processing, material science, or mechanics
Advanced data processing/ programming skills in tools such as Matlab, Excel, C++, or similar
Working proficiency in Swedish and English languages is required
