Join an industry leading company and be part of the green transformation
Have you already proven your ability to drive and develop one or more procurement categories and are looking for your next challenge within a green and growing company? Or are you perhaps a successful consultant looking to further develop and put your skills and toolbox to work within an industry leading company, helping to drive the green transformation?
Can you see yourself as our new Category Lead?
Group Procurement at NKT is a successful growing function and we are currently looking to strengthen our team with an experienced and capable Category Lead within our direct materials team. As a Procurement Category Lead you will be at the centre of our efforts in providing meaningful strategic sourcing solutions to the business, catering predominantly to our critical high-voltage business with state-of-the-art production facilities in Karlskrona and Cologne.
Effectively, you will be the partner to the business on sourcing solutions within your category, having the full end-to-end responsibility.
Your primary responsibilities will be to:
* Be the supply market expert and partner to the business, maintaining an up-to-date view on the supply market and the relevant options available within your assigned categories
* Develop and regularly update the category strategy and project pipeline
* Continuously develop the supplier portfolio to match the increasing requirements
* Drive supplier relationship management and key supplier partnerships
* Negotiate frame agreements, supply agreements, price agreements
* Identify and build business cases adding value to NKT
* Execute, or oversee the execution of projects and activities within the relevant category
* Drive the transformation agenda, develop and mature the category, improve ways of working, value creation and exploit new technologies and tools
* Build and maintain stakeholder relations
Group Procurement is globally responsible for strategic, tactical and in some cases also operational procurement. Our skilled employees represent multiple nationalities, and we are working out of both HQ in Broendby, Denmark, but also from our plant locations throughout Europe. This role will be placed in Karlskrona, our core competency and production centre for high voltage offshore cables.
Expected travel days are 15-30 days/year. This will primarily be across Europe.
Stakeholder collaboration, strategic flair and ability to engage and execute
This is a senior, challenging and high-profile role with broad exposure to the organization at all levels. You are therefore expected to possess the needed curiosity, natural authority and strategic Procurement skills to engage effectively with the business.
Some of the keys to succeed in this role will be to engage effectively with internal stakeholders across borders and cultures, understand the business needs and translate these into sourcing solutions – and executing on these. Also, you will need to be able to navigate effectively across business lines in a growing international organization where priorities can be both short- and long term.
You focus on opportunities rather than obstacles and have commercial and strategic flair and are able to maintain the big picture overview in a workday which can be busy from time to time, but certainly also fun and rewarding.
Preferred qualifications
* M.Sc. degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or similar
* Minimum 7-10 years category management experience working predominantly with direct materials within an international organization, and/or consultancy experience with proven track record in generating valuable business results
