ValueOne is looking for a Procurement Category Manager with experience from strategic sourcing and category management for a consultant assignment at a company in Solna, north of Stockholm. The assignment starts in early August and lasts for six months with possibilities for extension.

The role
We are currently seeking a Procurement Category Manager who will be responsible for developing and executing the procurement and category strategy for critical categories. This role will also be responsible for executing direct and indirect purchasing activities, either independently or by leading a team of buyers, and negotiating contracts with suppliers within the commodity area.
Main tasks:
Be accountable for creating and implementing the Category Strategy. Set long-term development goals, follow up, and report progress.
Lead and drive procurement projects (RFI/RFP/RFQ).
Lead supplier evaluation, selection, and phase-in/phase-out processes.
Monitor supplier capacity and delivery performance.
Manage direct and indirect procurement activities, aiming to reduce total costs and ensure supply continuity.
Maintain pricing and standard costing for products in the category.
Monitor and forecast internal demand and external market trends.
Manage supplier accounts, including contracts, key negotiations, performance management, and escalation handling.
Develop professional relationships with key suppliers through executive meetings and defined business metrics.
Direct new supplier introduction and/or disengagement requirements.
Experience and Competencies
To be relevant for the assignment for the assignment as Procurement Category Manager you need to have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in sourcing and supply chain. The role also requires at least five years of experience in a similar role within strategic sourcing and category management. Fluency in English, both verbal and written, is essential. Swedish is meritorious. We prefer you to have experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or diagnostics industry as well as knowledge in OEM chemicals and reagents (or packaging and plastics).
You are an expert in sourcing and supply chain management with excellent tendering and negotiation skills. You have experience in leading cross-functional teams and is proficient in communicating complex concepts and negotiating different viewpoints. Also, knowledge of contractual terms and conditions in Europe is beneficial as well as ability to read and interpret product BOMs.
Good IT skills is an asset, especially proficiency in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and SAP. As a person you are a self-starter with critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities under pressure. We also place great value on strong stakeholder management skills.
