Procurement Director

The role as a Procurement Director is broad and will span strategic planning, commercial growth and excellence, operational efficiency and financial controls - leveraging analytical and industry experience to solve problems facing portfolio companies. The Procurement Director is likely to work with a small number of companies on a continual basis (and may serve on the Board of Directors on one or a few of these), and support other portfolio companies on more ad hoc basis.
In addition to the work with portfolio companies, the Procurement Director will work together with the operating team in developing Nordic Capital’s approach to portfolio company governance, in building the Nordic Capital network and support in due diligence and exit processes.
Key responsibilities and specific tasks may include but are not limited to:
Work with newly acquired portfolio companies in shaping the 3-5 year ‘value creation plan’ (often referred to as ‘100 day program’)
Support portfolio companies in add-on acquisitions and in integration of acquired companies
Support management in specific improvement efforts, e.g. in driving pricing projects, sales force effectiveness efforts, purchasing programs, implement Lean operations, etc.
Conduct performance reviews of portfolio companies, e.g. after a couple of years’ ownership (‘mid term reviews’) or when a company is under-performing
Support management and the Nordic Capital deal team in preparing exits
Ensure portfolio companies have access to Nordic Capital’s network and expertise
Develop specific aspects of Nordic Capital’s approach to portfolio company governance
Provide trainings to Nordic Capital staff and portfolio company managers on e.g. best practices
Work with deal teams to identify and evaluate specific opportunities during due diligence
