We are currently looking for an experienced Procurement Manager, supporting our US operations Troax Inc. and Folding Guard. This position will initially be based at our operations in Hillerstorp Sweden, but will after a period of 12 months be relocated to our operations in Chicago USA.
This position is responsible for the sourcing of finished products, components, sub-assemblies and raw materials that technically and commercially comply with Troax’s and Folding Guard’s requirements.
The position reports directly to Troax Inc.’s/Folding Guard’s Vice President of Operations and involves a high degree of interaction between Troax Inc.’s/Folding Guard’s Engineering and Manufacturing Departments, current supplies as well as potentially new suppliers and the Troax Group Operations at Hillerstorp, Sweden.
Main Responsibilities
Lead the sourcing of finished products, components, sub-assemblies and raw materials that comply with Folding Guard’s requirements in regards to technical performance, mechanical properties and integrity as well as commercial viability.
Manage all pre-production supply chain activities in accordance with established sourcing processes – NDA’s, quotes, supplier negotiations, PO’s, plan/track coordinate with quality and supplier quality.
Manage the transition of all supply chain activities from the pre-production environment to the production environment including detailed phase in / phase out plans and inventory management.
Lead, facilitate and participate in the activities of a cross-functional team comprising of the Engineering Department, Product Management Department, Sales Department and Production Department to plan and execute productivity and new product development projects.
Integrate self and suppliers in the planning and design phase assuring participation in concept and design reviews by evaluating design alternatives based on technical as well as commercial criteria.
Understand and align assigned projects with Corporate strategies, Supply Chain strategies, Operations’ strategies and other requirements associated with project goals.
Identify and communicate innovative new technical trends, material, and process ideas to the appropriate Engineering Department and Production Department Team Members.
Accurately communicate status, quality of project and deliverables to Team and Management.
Apply broad sourcing and engineering experience to deliver creative, effective and timely solutions to complex issues that meet and exceed technical, quality, cost, inventory and on time delivery objectives.
Identify critical dependencies and risks; develop and implement mitigation plans to achieve objectives.


Knowledge and skill requirements
Knowledge of Supply Chain Processes including Inventory Management.
Thorough knowledge of Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials Management, Material Standards (ASME, AWS, ISO etc.), Total Quality Management, Supplier Capabilities, Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Processes and Performance Improvement.
At least 3 years procurement/sourcing experience, preferrably from the steel mesh industry.
Excellent command of the English language, verbally and in writing.
Proficiency with software tools such as: SAP, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and presentation skills.
Demonstrates a positive attitude and is results-oriented and self-motivated, with the ability to lead and effect change in others in a positive manner.
Excellent team leadership skills.
Possesses an ethical and truthful manner
Bachelor of science degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 2 years’ Engineering experience working with new Product Introduction and Process Improvement activities in a cross functional environment involving complex Products and Technologies.
