Taking our production to next level
After two years of R&D we have now launched our first product with a very positive response from the market! Taking this first step is scary but at the same time super exciting. With the plan to launch two more products during the coming year and with an international expansion around the corner, we are to scale our Production Operations & Supply Chain function.
We are looking for another Doer to join the team in order to get ourselves ready to take on the world by ensuring a top class production and distribution of the world’s most ambitious cheese!
Our strategy and where we’re at
With the ambition to become a category leader and build a company to last, we are not taking things lightly. We are investing heavily in developing superior products where smooth operations and supply chain will be key. Initially we will focus on the Swedish market with the purpose of learning more about our brand and our products before we expand to other markets. As part of our strategy we use co-manufacturers where procurement and sourcing will play a key role throughout the whole supply chain.
The role
In close collaboration with Ali Afsar-Nazari, Head of Production Operation & Supply Chain, it will all come down to ensure operational excellence. This will be done by building a strong production and supply chain consisting of reliable suppliers and co-manufacturer, trustworthy distributions and smooth logistics. Given the broadness of the role, we gave up the idea of describing the responsibilities in a fancy way and went with the following concrete list instead:
1- Procurement & Sourcing: source and secure raw materials and services from suppliers followed by continuous evaluating and negotiating contracts to secure long term access with optimised pricing.
2- Logistics: considering our fresh and chilled products while setting up the best possible logistic solution with 3rd party distributors to meet the needs of our customers.
3- Production: evaluate, set up contracts, monitor and visit co-manufacturing sites both in Sweden and Europe.
4- Quality: evaluate and ensure quality standards for food manufacturing from production facilities to the warehouses.
As can be told from the above, you will be collaborating with several external stakeholders as well as working closely with our R&D team to understand the needs of raw materials and be aligned with the Commercial team regarding suppliers and logistics.
Taking one step back, this position will, literally, be key for a successful expansion ahead, how exciting isn’t that?
Who we believe you are
You don’t have to be vegan, actually none of us are 100% strict about it, but we do expect you to have, preferably international, experience from procurement, sourcing and supply chain management. That experience may come from 5 or 15 years in the food or FMCG, but we honestly don’t know. What we do know is as we will trust your advice within the area, your high level of knowledge and expertise will speak for itself.
Educational wise, we think that you have a MSc in Economics or engineering and experience from raw material sourcing in the food industry may be beneficial as well.
As you will work with a lot of different people, from different countries and cultures, you are skilled in building long lasting relationships and have strong communication skills. In order to stay cool while a lot of things are going on, you are structured, analytical and have a systematic way of working. Furthermore, being a small company where change is a consistent factor, your independent and proactive approach will be fundamental.
