Our Opening
We are looking for a Producibility Engineer within the area for Printed Circuit Board (PCB) & Printed Board Assembly (PBA), who are willing to take the opportunity to grow in this role. Our Producibility Design team in Kumla, Sweden, is looking for you who are in the beginning of your career and is eager to learn from senior colleagues. In long-term, you are encouraged to become a Senior Engineer. We are willing to invest in you, if you want to invest your time and engagement in us!

We are a global organization, within Development Unit Networks (DNEW), of approximately 3,000 engineers and developers collaborating across nine sites in Canada, China and Sweden to drive Ericsson’s strategy of securing our ongoing market leadership in radio, taking a leadership position in 5G.

Product Development Unit Radio (PDU Radio) drives the end-to-end research and development of Ericsson’s radio products and solutions.

This role will belong to the Prototyping and Production Technology departement (PPT), which is a part of PDU Radio.

PPT is a competence center in producibility, production technology and material analysis. We are also responsible for prototype production to support product- and test development. In addition, we are producing various equipment for design tests, exhibitions and more. Our facilities are in Kista and Kumla. The team consists of independent and senior team members.

You will
Improve PCB and PBA design by being a part of our development projects.
Perform design for manufacturing/assembly reviews.
Participate in hardware investigations, to improve and mitigate various producibility issues.
Understand and share the interdependency between the product and the production processes.
Understand, apply and improve design rules.
Continuously improve own and team ways of working.
Collaboration is key: this unit collaborates with many other units within different areas, responsibilities, countries etc. Ex. design units, supply units, partners and suppliers.
Travelling is a part of this role.


You will collaborate with senior colleagues with deep expertise in how to develop PCB & PBA in a way that they are efficient to produce in high volumes.

Improvement and communication are important. We are striving for excellence and you will capture knowledge to become a valuable team member. With time, you will be able to share your expertise with project members from other technology areas. You will give feedback after reviews, before release of products. You will also follow up, feedback and learn more from actual production. We are working with continuous improvements to improve processes and tools to achieve higher quality before and after review.


To be successful in the role
A Master’s degree in Engineering is needed. Could be in areas like Electronics, Process or Material. Equivalent combination of education and work experience are also of interest.
It is preferred that you have experience from electronic design and/or electronics production.
Experience of design for mass production would be appreciated.
Knowledge of PCB technologies, would be helpful.
You need to have great collaboration skills.
You should have a self-drive and proactive approach.
Ability to communicate in English both verbally and in text is important, since it is our corporate language.
