Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications AB offers products for people who appreciate an energized experience, and creates value for consumers and mobile operators by bringing new ways of using multimedia communications while mobile.The company has approximately 7,500 employees across the globe working on research, development, design, sales, marketing, distribution and support.Sony Ericsson is thanks to the success on the market going through a phase of expansion.In your role as Producibility Engineer for Surface Mount Assembly you will be involved early in the conceptual design of our products with the responsible for influencing the design to achieve optimal producibility for high volume production (production suitability).You will follow the project through the initial prototype phases with the responsibility for PBA verification of the product from a production point of view. .Secure the producibility of our PBA (printed board assembly) design using tools such as DFM/DFA..Identifying and quantifying PBA design risks in concept studies..Analysis of the producibility of the design during prototype builds .Root cause analysis of product and production process failures..Establish and develop relationships within the product development organization and high volume production facilities..Improve existing internal producibility processes and routines including rules and guidelines related to the design of the product from a production point of view, i.e.Footprint design rules, Solderpaste design rules etc .Guide and support the producibility processes performed by our industrialization partners..Develop PBA repair processes. Your work will mainly be in a project organization where you will be expected to take ownership for several activities that are to be delivered in a timely manner to the project.A close relation with our production facilities, mainly located in Asia, and to our product development centre located worldwide is a requirement to succeed.Our working environment is dynamic with short product life cycles, you will be expected to participate in several project simultaneously.The position requires some degree of traveling, both domestic and international. We think you have a degree in engineering or a background from engineering or design.You have a good understanding of SMT production and repair processes including an awareness of the factors that effect product quality; experience from working in high volume manufacture at least for two years is a requirement.You are used to working with statistic tools and you are familiar with AutoCad.You can formulate you arguments and ideas in a way that is easy for others to understand.You are comfortable with communicating in English, both spoken and written.
