Product Application Developer

Sandvik Coromant is looking for a Product Application Developer, within the Product area Rotating Indexable products. The position is located in Sandviken but will work with colleagues together in an international environment.
With the goal of securing a presence in key regional markets, you get to travel both domestically and internationally to many of our Sandvik Coromant customers and sites!
By joining the Knowledge & Creation team for Rotating Indexable Product Area
You work in a team that passionately challenges and secures throughput of product and application development projects for the Rotating Indexable area. Together in the team we combine product and application knowledge into solutions that create customer value, new insights and business results. Purpose and responsibilities as Product Application Developer
Your main purposes are to identify application, feature and method knowledge gaps. In addition to this, you lead, contribute as well as support application, knowledge and customer development projects.
Furthermore, your detailed responsibilities are to:
Develop and share application, feature and method expertise
Analyze customer needs and problems
Lead application development projects and external partner collaboration projects
Develop and verify solutions on customer components and customer projects
Document and hand-over of developed solutions and knowledge
Support customer visits and technical trainings
Support external partnerships such as PhD student works and technology center projects
Provide sales with technical support
Monitor the technology development within area of expertise (internal and external best practice application, feature, and method knowledge)

What we need from you
You have a solid expertise in Rotating Indexable Products and applications, and you have solid skills & experience in CAM software both as a user, but also as a knowledge facilitator of CAM. You have a strong experience from working towards the automotive industry and are well understood with the daily challenges and customer needs within that industry. Our corporate language is English.
You’re a natural team player as well as networker, and with your affinity for effective communication, you like to share your own acquired knowledge with your colleagues. You’re also a concrete problem-solver and a reliable results-producer – all this with an approach that’s both flexible and creative.
Profile
We’re looking for a business-driven professional who has a sound technical knowledge with strong experience in CAM software like Mastercam and/or NX. Preferably have strong experience of the metal cutting industry, project management and knowledge of indexable rotating tools applications or development is desired (10-15 years of experience).
A strategic mind, strong communication skills and the ability to make things happen are much needed for this job. We also value strong team-player spirit, confidence in taking the initiative and take discussions at any level within an organisation. By promoting transparency, collaboration, and commitment, you ambitiously engage and interact with all our internal and external stakeholders to deliver on objectives.
Key competences
Strong project management knowledge with creativity and flexibility.
Strong understanding of current & future needs/trends of Automotive Industry segments
Strong CAD / CAM experiance with Mastercam and/or NX.
Knowledge sharing & ability to absorb, process, and share knowledge within a specific knowledge area.
You are proficient in performing trainings as well as being a public speaker in relevant areas to further strengthen knowledge facilitation.
Networking: Generates productive relationships with internal and external partners that improve access to resources and expertise
