Advanced Engineering & Platform Studies is organized within Vehicle Engineering at Volvo Group Trucks Technology. We are responsible of preparing future trucks and transport solutions for all brands and markets by managing and driving Advanced Engineering at Vehicle Engineering & Vehicle Technology.

We believe you love to identify possibilities to overcome technical obstacles by create & visualize concepts, further develop the solutions to achieve the optimal vehicle configuration and assist in having the vehicles built and tested.
You like to analyze and to aggregate complex tasks and are comfortable in making clear technical recommendations. In situations of uncertainties and ambiguity you look for solutions. If needed, you can be persistent in accomplishing objectives despite obstacles and setbacks.
The role – what do we offer?
As Product Architect – Advanced Engineering & Platform Studies you will be responsible to drive selected strategic complete vehicle development and/or system development as well as transport efficiency from analysis and scoping to handover of technical solutions for a product stream project in early phase.
The role will involve, CAD packaging, Component design, Parts procurement, Physical build and Verification. Also to supervise others (such as thesis worker, students, summer worker and others) in this.
What we expect from you
· You have truck product knowledge within the areas of:
o Truck vehicle architecture and system integration.
o Customer operation in heavy haulage, Long haul and Construction segment.
o Configuration of vehicle and vehicle combinations.
o System- development incl integration in vehicle.
o Advanced Engineering Field Test – selection of suitable operators for the actual technology, technical specialist support for ongoing AE Field test´s incl co-operation with internal and external Volvo workshops.
o Trucks environmental impact.
· You prepare and participate in activities for analysis on system and complete vehicle level.
· You have good communication skills.

It’s a bonus if you also have:
· Complete vehicle combination – optimized configuration vs customer needs (TCO, VLP).
· Experience in Fuel Cell operated eTrailers
· Financial planning and follow up experience, Score & Business Warehouse knowledge
· Experience in trucks part of a sustainable logistic system.
Qualifications
· Master’s in Automotive Engineering
· Experience of the heavy trucks product development.
· Familiar with the following systems:
o Creo
o KOLA
o PDM-link
o M-logger
o GHOST
o GLORIA
o EBD ordering
o EDB
