Position Description
Are you interested in working with the strategy and pre-studies for updates of Volvo FH/FM/FMX from the view of the complete product and in a wide range of vehicle updates? Who are we?
Within Vehicle Engineering, Vehicle Strategy is a group, with the responsibility to manage the complete truck strategies over time and prepare projects. We are a team of highly skilled and senior experts who are setting the technical direction for our future Volvo FH, FM and FMX on a vehicle level. As a team member, you will be empowered to set the future vehicle updates into plans and road maps as well as lead pre-studies for new vehicle projects. 

What we can offer
Within Vehicle Strategy, you will get an important position with these main activities and responsibilities:
* Propose and define the technical road map for Volvo FH/FM/FMX from a vehicle perspective.

·     Secure balanced and high performing trucks in interaction with CAST, Vehicle Engineering, Technology streams, Strategic Product Planning and Volvo Trucks. 
* Visualization and communication of the road maps.
* Judge technical impact and effort for various product updates and propose optimizations and alternative or new updates.
* Lead Cross functional work in the early development phases to set requirements and technical direction for future trucks.
* Assure optimal technical vehicle concepts on truck level.
* Initiate advanced engineering studies to prepare evolution of the Volvo FH/FM/FMX
* Establish strong relations with Engineering departments, Strategic Product Planning, Brand Product Strategy, GTO and GTP.

Who are you?
You have a Master´s degree in Engineering, or equivalent, and at least ten years of experience of automotive development: experience from Product planning, Chassis or Electromobility is preferred. You have technical leadership experience as a project or line manager, including product ownership, and extensive knowledge in automotive development. Knowledge in working with planning, balancing, and managing pre-studies in early project phases is also part of your experience.
We believe that you can analyse and aggregate complex tasks and can lead a team that will work as bridge between our brand representatives and product planning to different engineering initiatives. This means that you can handle uncertainties and ambiguity while at the same time act as a leader, entrepreneur and be creative.
