We are now looking for a Product Area Lead Engineer to co-lead the newly established product area Circular Business Model Incubation in our supporting function Innovation & Incubation at Business Tech.

About the role


As a Product Area Lead Engineer within Circular Business Model incubation, you will co-lead the product area together with a Product Area Manager to build a portfolio of products and services that drive product lifecycle value towards the overall ambition of decoupling growth from resource use.
Working closely with collaboration partners, your teams will act on changes in customer behaviors, or even nudge behaviors, and build meaningful customer relationships by adding circular customer offerings within the H&M Group.
As a Product Area Lead Engineer you will be accountable for the Product Area’s technical architecture and engineering practices. Using your tech and engineering experience, you will be a catalyst for technical innovation, modernization of our technical landscape, and drive the engineering culture on Product Area level. A central part of the role is to guide and coach your team through our transformation. We are on a journey together, which means there is no clear path, and you will play an important role in setting the foundation for the organization. Together with the Product Area Manager, you will support the Product Owners and their teams to shape the end-to-end product strategy and determine associated value.


Main responsibilities


Enable fact-based technology discussions, to reach desired business effect/goals and architectural vision
Provide hands-on technical guidance to product teams including supporting system/design/code reviews
Be staff responsible for software engineers in the product area
Own the technology lifecycle management and API catalogue in the product area including the definition, creation and maintenance of technical interfaces / APIs in the product area that are exposed by the teams in the area
Work with enabling platform teams to secure efficient usage of common technology platforms
Be responsible for the overall work environment for your team
Support the product teams in product demos and lead regular product area demos to provide transparency and gain input across the organization





Requirements


To be successful in this position, we want you to…
Have the ability to effectively lead a core organisational unit of 20+ employees in a large collaborative network
Have at least 8 years of work experience; great experience from software engineering working with developing, running and scaling cutting-edge technology solutions and platforms
Have developed, shipped and maintained several successful digital products over the years
Have a deep understanding of Solution Architecture, API architecture and design and Data and Information Architecture
Have experience of Agile product development, preferably in large organisations
Experience within Circular Business models and/or Sustainability is beneficial but not crucial
