Who are we?
Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we’re expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we’re on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars’ journey into the future.
Your mission: Secure operational stability
Volvo Cars is on an ambitious journey, redefining car ownership and mobility - and we are looking for a new colleague to join our Commercial Design team. The role is a key function to support our Consumer Offer, Cars and Regions teams to secure and implement product authorisation. You will work across exciting areas of car development, software sales, accessories, insurance, car service, apps, charging services and more to come.
What you will spend time on
You will be securing that our systems are authorized with the correct product data to enable operational execution.
You will get to know the core of our operations, which is essential to our car programs and the markets to be able to order, build and deliver the cars. Examples of activities to drive are:
• Business Authorisation:
o Based on KDP data, define a legal and market-relevant product range to the market.
o Centrally create regulations and exemptions in the product range based on Cars requirements.
o Classify the product's constituent components in price categories for financial use.
o Define base colour & base upholstery on all variants based on market preferences.
• Factory Authorisation - To govern the total product range to the respective production facility with the correct validity range.
• Market (NSC) Support - To simulate and troubleshoot rejected market orders, suggest spec-changes that ensure orderable variants.
• Design restrictions - Design restrictions between PNO12 and other PNO parts, also restrictions between features.
• Next generation product documentation system – Be part of the project in the implementation phase.
Expectations to who you are
We expect you to share our belief in the power of people and our passion for creating human-centric products.
We see you thrive in an environment who are committed to making a true difference. You are a strategically thinking hands-on person with a collaborative mindset, and you can manage ambiguity and complexity.
Experience in KDP, CPAM and Hercules are competencies we’re looking for.
