Right now, we are looking for a Product Certification Manager, to drive and continue develop our product compliance and certification processes. You will ensure Zounds products are compliant with global regulatory requirements regarding electrical safety, radio, EMC and battery safety. The role involves performing assessments of requirements at a high pace, managing a wide variety of tasks in the product regulatory area, service minded and clear communication as well as collaboration with our Certification engineer in our Shenzhen team, Sustainability team, Legal, Sales and product development projects and engineers at Zound and at our Contract manufacturers. Depending on experience or interest, the role may also involve Sustainability compliance, such as sustainability certifications, material declarations and supply chain development.
The role is part of Zound’s Sustainability and Compliance team, where you'll be reporting to our Product Compliance and Sustainability manager.
What you'll do
Product certification
- Requirement assessments: Monitor, investigate, assess applicability and inform on product regulatory and certification requirements, including these from third parties. This may include literature research, contacting authorities and distributors and compiling short reports and presentations, as well as presenting and training internally and for partners.
- Product safety testing management: Plan and ensure new products are tested and certified according to global requirements and standards together with Certification engineer, Sales and distributors
- Support product development to ensure products are designed to comply with requirements
- Documentation management of product lifecycle until EOL: Plan and execute new market introduction projects concerning certification and compliance. Secure documentation in PLM-system and continuously ensure the correct documents are available
- Answer and provide necessary certification information to authorities, certification bodies and customers
Product safety
- Product safety assessment: Drive and document product safety assessments of new products, technologies and batteries which are performed in collaboration with subject matter experts.
- Manage potential product incidents
Process improvements
- Develop the way of working internal and external at Zound in the certification and compliance area, such as set up of new processes, tools and software, when needed
- Train and support organisation in certification and product safety
Who you are
Being pragmatic, having the ability to act and manage complex information and explain them simply are key attributes that are important to succeed in this role. You should enjoy and thrive off the high tempo and frequent changes in product development and have a service minded approach to support with your expertise. You use your industry experience to understand the regulatory impact of different design options and changes, judge priorities in the daily work, are structured and pay attention to the importance of being accurate and make sure what is necessary gets documented properly. We hope that you are keen to develop and improve compliance and certification activities and doing so independently. Having a cooperative mindset aimed at adding value to Zound’s culture and international setting will be fundamental.
You probably have the following experiences & skills
- University degree in Engineering or Science, with several years of experience in compliance and certification for consumer products and product development, preferably with electrical products and battery safety.
- Electrical, EMC, radio and battery safety knowledge and certification experience
